Training Mirrors


 

Training Mirrors by Driver Ed in a Box

 

Two training mirrors are provided in each Driver Ed in a Box® kit.  They are placed on the passender side of the car for use by the parent or guardian providing the instruction.  The mirrors are unique to our program and they add a critical dimension to the in-vehicle training process.

 

  • Instructor’s Rear View Mirror: Training safety is enhanced by using this convex, rectangular mirror allowing the parent or guardian to see what is happening behind the vehicle, while keeping all vehicle mirrors adjusted for the student.  This allows the student to develop the important HABIT of using all the mirrors.
 
  • Instructor’s Eye Check Mirror. The round, flat Eye Check Mirror allows the parent to see at a glance where the student's eyes are focused.  A fixed stare, failure to check the blind spot before moving to a new lane, or failure to check the rear view before slowing are easily detected.  This allows the parent to coach the student until the student has developed the correct HABITS of eye movement.
